Shahnaz Walford Makeup Artist
1, Start by having a facial treatment, I recently went to The Cove Spa in St Albans for a Microdermabrasion Facial - the blast of crystals did wonders for my complexion and diminished the signs of fine lines.
2, Choose a range of skincare that best suits your skin type and tone. I was advised to ditch my faithful Skinsceutical range for Environ. Environ is a South African family run brand with a vision "to make the best skin care in the world!" which is scientifically proven to contain very high doses of Vitamin A in their products. Environ also do facials which are highly recommended.
3, Drink plenty of water including herbal teas. I drink at least 2 litres a day.
4, Exfoliate regularly.
and finally, don't be tempted to cake it on - if your skin isn't at it's best it's tempting to try and cover it with layers of foundation this won't help, let your skin breathe. Switch to a Mineral foundation and apply a soft layer where needed. I've recently started using Jane Iredale products slightly pricey but worth every penny if it protects my skin, is gentler to the environment and not tested on animals I'm happy to pay more!
